Nice. I did not see intellectual property rights coming into.

The reason Gregory Coleman wouldn't go suing left and right over his contribution to hop and electronica, is probably 'cause he's been taught that riff, by some weathered nigga, who was a 100years old in 1969, and who in his turn, got it by "misspelling" it practicing some other drum riff he picket up from someone even older :)
Good show people.
Let them now, Don't stop telling them.
One day they'll copyright a gamma scale, other - vibrations our hearts make, 'cause it has E# in it.

dear mr maxpounder,
i must say i love this video, not only is it a nice history of the amen break with nice examples of the usage, the conclusion at the end is very right-on and hard 'news' for everybody who tries to bring some innovation into music.
Forget the negative comments, when so much knowledge is being given, people feel a bit numb and are eagerly waitin to tell their own story.
long live the amen break; after ten years of listenin to him, still lovin it!
